Andrea Danae Kingston was born in Australia. She started dancing at the age of five and at the age of twelve stood on stage in her first professional experience performing with the Australian Ballet Company in Graeme Murphy's premiere cast of "The Nutcracker" in Melbourne.
1998 took Andrea first to London and then onto Vienna where she took up an invitation to study at the Vienna State Opera Ballet School. She commenced her professional career aged 18 with Ballet Schindowski in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
Her career onstage has taken her to many houses throughout Germany and Austria including Komische Oper Berlin, Staatsoper Hannover, Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Opern Graz, Landestheater Linz and in 2006 she danced in revivals of “Faust” (Royal Opera House Production) in Italy,(Theatro Verdi) and France, (Opera de Lille).
Andrea has worked as choreographic assistant to Melissa King on a number of projects including "West Side Story" and "Show-Boat" at the Bad Hersfelderfestpiele and "Chicago" in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
2009 marked Andrea's debut as a choreographer at the Staatsoperettenhaus Dresden with the European Premiere of Gershwin's "Pardon My English." Since then she has continued to choreograph on numerous stages throughout Germany in interdisciplinary productions ranging from Musicals - (a.o. SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN, WEST SIDE STORY, ANYTHING GOES, CABARET, KISS ME KATE, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS) to Opera - (a.o. RUSALKA, BLOOD WEDDING, AIDA, CARMEN, ARIADNE AUF NAXOS, THE MAGIC FLUTE, IL RITORNO D’ULISSE IN PATRIA) and Operette - (a.o. DIE LUSTIGE WITWE, DIE HERZOGIN VON CHICAGO, BALL IM SAVOY, DIE FLEDERMAUS, DIE CSARDASFÜRSTIN, FRAU LUNA) as well as theatre (JEDERMANN, BLUESBROTHERS).
Personal highlights of the past years have included working with Stefan Huber on MÄRCHEN IM GRANDHOTEL (Staatsoper Hannover), her collaborations with Felix Seiler especially CHICAGO (Stadttheater Bremerhaven) and bringing to life Kurt Weill’s STREET SCENE (Theater Münster) with Hendrik Müller.
Andrea is based in Berlin is a regular guest teacher in the performing arts department at the University of Arts Berlin (UdK) as well as being a faculty member of the Berlin Opera Academy. In 2021 she was the receiver of DIS-TANZ-SOLO artist funding.
